LOCKHART order of merlin: third class
minimum requirement is 1 OWL (even if it's in muggle studies) and a SASO (self-addressed, stamped owl).
HONOURARY member of the dark force defense league
this is rich.
if you contact the MOM with any suggestion, complaint, request, comment, etc and they want to ignore you.. they'll send you an owl thanking you and this certificate. I've been told that this was a two-legger (both certificates came on the same owl).
there are rumours that dumbledore used these as hankies.
5 time winner of witch weekly's most charming smile award
apparently lockhart went to a muggle dentist, and as there don't happen to be any dental specialists in the wizarding world, there aren't exactly a lot of applicants for this award.
he hasn't won since he's no longer the only person to submit a photo.
he's been in and out of St Mungo's and when he's able to, he takes over filch's job.
it's something that dumbledore set up in the event that he becomes strong enough.
FILCH
mrs. norris is filch's daughter.
the enchantment that was on her broke on The Great Day, so it was either bellatrix's or YKW's work.
she won't discuss it.
she's back with her husband (chuck) now and filch lives on the premises when he's not at hogwarts covering for lockhart.
WENDELL & MONICA WILKINS
are safe and happy, living in australia.
they're visited every sunday by a nice girl who keeps insisting she's their daughter and run the Basilisk Fang Used Bookstore and Reading Library. they have an unusually low rate of 'overdue books' for some reason.
altho the wilkins' don't normally read it, they get the sunday paper for her husband, ron, who always plops down and asks what's new in it.
they lease a large chunk of their vast estate to a group of wizards who raise and breed dragons, basilisks, chimeras, nifflers, etc.
it consists of hagrid (of course), charlie weasley (and sometimes fred), and mrs longbottom (she says that having to stay on her toes all the time keeps her young).
MALFOYS
the malfoys didn't fare too well.
Lucius had to go before the Wizengamot countless times and therefore lost almost everything by paying out bribes.
He was just barely able to stay out of azkaban because he had always been careful to obliviate the memories of people whom he had used Unforgivable Curses on so there was never any concrete proof to convict him (revamping the trial system was one of the first things that The Great One requested).
but nobody ever trusted him again.
once believed to have been the richest man in the wizarding world, his holdings steadily lost ground until all he had left was a tattered old IOU for a quill and four feet of parchment from snape from back when they were in school together that he had kept as a lark.
since no one wanted it and there were no heirs, he was able to get snape's shack by default.
I heard he committed suicide not long after they had to move into it.
The Great One vouched for draco (he said dumbledore would have wanted it that way), and so he wasn't penalized and this allowed him to take over stan shunpike's job.
but between the malfoy's fall from grace, living with her son, and her clingy nature, Narcissa drove away any decent potential wizard wives and draco was forced to marry a muggle woman who has henpecked him ever since.
sidenote, lockhart originally learned Obliviate from Lucius several yrs ago. the details are sketchy and unless lockhart recovers fully (which is doubtful), lost forever.
DURSLEYS
vernon: was absolutely livid every time someone came up to shake his hand to thank him for the 16 yrs of room and cupboard of The Great One, until he had a massive coronary and then a second after the flood of get-well owls. He was informed that there was very little likelihood that he would survive a third and subsequently reevaluated his situation and has been promoted to vice-president as he's single-handedly made Grunnings the #1 seller of drills on the planet.
petunia:
dudley: muggle relations, lost 400 lbs (28 stone), married a nice (but BIG) girl
WEASLEYS arthur: muggle liason office (dudley works for him),
molly: runs an orphanage for wizards and/or magical creatures. dumbledore took the reward money (1k apiece for the capture of the 8 deatheaters at the MOM, minus the fine (he insisted on paying as it was his idea) for an unauthorized portkey) and had donated it to a tiny squib/werewolf etc. orphanage that no one ever heard of (so small, it didn't even have a name). molly somehow learned of it and when little teddy lupin was orphaned (she is his godmother), donations started flooding in for him. teddy's grandma set enough aside for him but she wanted a goodly amount to go to the orphanage since most unwanted wizarding children end up there without even a toothbrush.
the problem was that she wasn't really sure how to find it and asked molly to help her.
well, Mrs weasley tracked it down from dumbledore's transfer records (of the reward money) and was so moved when she went there that she immediately became the primary crusader for what is now the Lupin House.
mrs pigglywiggle (the care mistress) had wanted to name it after dumbledore when he donated the reward money, but he stipulated that the only condition of his donation was that they DIDN'T do any such thing (you know him, he was always that way). it's been so successful that most often there aren't any children left to be adopted, and new arrivals are few and far between.
so sometimes, indigent wizards can use as a means to get back on their feet bill: charlie: percy: is currently the youngest Minister of Magic ever. fred: unfortunately isn't doing too well.
he's never really recovered from george's death and I believe, tho he does hold the record for the "most unanswered marriage proposals". he sold the shop to mundungus, who wasn't able to hold onto it for very long, so they bummed around egypt, I believe.. or maybe it was tibet.
he's been in and out of trouble, stayed with the potters for awhile after Mr Harry interceded on his behalf after one incident, but left late one night with only a brief note of gratitude for the hospitality and quick goodbye (no mention of where he was going). you hear every once in awhile of how the muggle police have a few questions they'd like to ask him, but nothing really serious and nothing really specific.
he shows up at the farm every once in awhile, wrestles a dragon or two, and pops out again.
he never DID say how they knew that "ireland would win the cup but krum would catch the snitch." he says that it was all george's thing, who never told him, but I think he doesn't really want to admit to whatever it was.
ginny: was deputy-head auror in the beginning (all she had to do was "show up" and the situation was resolved instantly), now is seeker for the chudley cannons, who have now won the last four cups. ron: gringotts, says he's sick of money
hermione: expanded spew, magical creatures office, everone except X has either joined, or in negotiations
harry: back to school (highest "re-enrollment" at hogwarts ever), graduated, auror, backup seeker when ginny's not available, he and ginny have 12(?) kids
neville and luna: married, quibbler bought prophet, mcgonall gave extra lessions (mandatory newt in xsfig (?) to neville so that he can eventually become hogwarts principal. grandma very proud
rita skeeter: either forgot how formidable mcgonagal was or did it anyway, wrote something offensive and was tracked down her. spent some time in azkaban and is now editor of the daily prophet since she came out of azkaban with a new perspective.
goyle: was never really good at magic. moved to the muggle world, went on the dole and gets in barfights, pukes on the floor, etc.
marietta: tried EVERYTHING but was too proud to ask hermione to recall the curse. in desperation, she went to a muggle plastic surgeon (martin) who found her to be quite a challenge. she finally appealed to hermione and when the curse was lifted, martin thought he did it, so he married her.
she's never told him that she was a witch and has donated her wand to the Lupin House.
teddy lupin:
the rascal is constantly in trouble,
(mostly when he's hanging out with uncle fred, took to each other like magnets.)
but he is "little teddy lupin", so what can you do ?
is the poster child for (what was previously) "undesired orphans" everywhere, swayed public opinion.
firenze: became quadra-paraplegic and isn't expected to be able to walk again, ever.
he still teaches at hogwarts and several people volunteered to carry "the war hero" around, which they did until a special wagon was built for him.. and then vied for the opportunity to pull his cart for him.
several centaurs saw this and were so impressed that humans were cheerfully doing "mule work" that they've entered into negotiations to join the wizarding community, with bane as their spokes-equine.
firenze is, of course, welcomed back into the herd and the forbidden forest, even tho his cart would make that difficult.
he's been offered a displacement charm to be put on his cart (similar to the one on the knight bus), but he's declined for now so as to remain the unofficial diplomat for andro-equine relations. trelawney: runs a psychic line cho chang: is on her what, eighth ? nineth ? husband now. I can never keep track.
first ever vote, introduce wizarding world to muggles via hp books.
after hypocritical american reaction to "witchcraft", was unaminously rescinded.
